The Village of Peterculter
Peterculter, a thriving village also known as Culter, is a suburb of Aberdeen, and is situated approximately eight miles inland from Aberdeen city centre. Comprising a population of just over 7,000 people and enjoys easy access to the city.
Just off the A9 on the B979, Peterculter is on the northern banks of the River Dee, near the confluences with Crynoch Burn and Leuchar Burn. Following the 1996 Scottish council boundary changes it became part of the City of Aberdeen’s Lower Deeside ward. Due to its nearness to Aberdeen City and being only about thirty miles from the Cairngorm National Park, Culter is a poular area. In and around the town itself there are many local walks, including its connection to the Deeside Way at the site of the former Culter railway station.
Aberdeen - The Granite City
Aberdeenshire is famous for its granite – a silvery-grey rock that is packed with tiny sparkling crystals. In the city you’ll see lots of stunning buildings made of this sparkling stone – just one of the qualities that makes Aberdeen unique. Its sandy beach, just a short walk from the city centre, is another.
Equally famous for its oil industry, Aberdeen is a vibrant city bursting with life and packed with an amazing and varied selection of stores and shops including those within Union Square, an outstanding shopping precinct.
Aberdeen International Airport will connect you to destinations worldwide while rail links and motorway connections make the city easy to reach. The city has won ‘Britain in Bloom’ a record-breaking 10 times.

Beach Leisure Centre Aberdeen
The Beach Leisure Centre is a multifunctional venue providing a leisure pool, including wave machine and four flume plus fully equipped gym and health suite facilities. There is also a large versatile sports hall, café, and créche.
Zoology Museum Aberdeen
The museum's displays are worldwide in scope, from protozoa to the great whales, including taxidermy, skeletal material, study skins, fluid-preserved specimens, and models. Visitors are warmly welcomed to the museum, and there is no charge for admission, though they ask that children are accompanied by a responsible adult.
The Cruikshank Botanic Garden
The Cruickshank Botanic Garden works closely with the Aberdeen Biodiversity Centre and Zoology Museum. This beautiful and peaceful 11-acre garden next to the Zoology Building offers year-round interest to visitors. It has shrub borders, a rock and water garden, sunken garden, rose garden, herbaceous border, and an arboretum, and houses a nationally important collection of over 2,500 labeled plants.
Aberdeen Snow & Sports Centre
If you are a winter sports enthusiast, then this is the place for you all year round with artificial slopes for skiers and snowboarders to practice and hone their skills.
Crathie Church
This small, beautiful church is the place of worship for the Royal Family when in residence at Balmoral.
Loch Muick Ballater
The Cairngorms are stunning, and Loch Muick is just beautiful, whether it is glorious sunshine, snow, or overcast you'll have a good chance to see wild deer/stags and usually a variety of birds, hares, and other wildlife. The path around the loch is accessible to many walkers/hikers, and you can choose how far around the loch you go, including much more technical paths over the mountains to various other glens; there is something for everyone.
Royal Lochnagar Distillery & Visitors Centre
One of many distilleries in Aberdeenshire, Royal Lochnagar distillery is situated on the south side of the River Dee close to Balmoral Castle. Age-old traditions and craftsmanship produce one of Scotland's most exclusive whiskies. A visit to Royal Lochnagar is a timeless experience.
